Pakistanis are falling in love with this amazing 8-year-old singer in NESCAFÉ Basement.
There has been A LOT to talk about the new season of NESCAFÉ Basement 05. If you thought the teaser featuring pianists, violinists, percussionists, drummers, sitar and tabla artists, electronic and bass guitarists, saxophonist, dhol, ukulele, and dambura player could prepare you for this, you were wrong. The first song is out and honestly, wow. I have no words. ITS CRAZZZYY AFF!!
The song, “Bol Hu” is an original by Soch the band. The song represents connotation of prayer with the lyrics literally call out to the Higher Being. The song will take you on a spiritual journey. Sung by Adnan and Hadiya, Bol Hu takes you on a soul searching journey of belief and devotion, braving the test of time as it has within it the strength of the universe.
But the actual singer who is the talk of the town right now is none other than an 8-year-old singing prodigy Hadiya Hashmi whose voice brought tears to my eyes.
It was a delight to watch a fifth grader reaching such high notes and ending them with such ease; we definitely expect to see more of her performances.
Yarr look at this cutie! She actually steals the show!
Damn! But her voice is so powerful and awakening.
I’m in absolute awe. And I’m crying.
But these are happy tears. Damn these ninjas cutting onions.
Hadiya shares that she has only had a year’s worth of training under her belt. The passionate cutie went up to her father asking for singing lessons a year ago and that’s when everything changed.
Bol Hu explores the mystical journey of soul searching and captivates you in a trance of belief and devotion with its strong lines. This season Nescafé Basement is also introducing young talent including a 13-year-old drummer — Sinaan — whose talent precedes his age.
