A worldwide phenomenon, Atif Aslam, has made his fans wait too long for a comeback. But it’s high time he’s back with a new song and is making everyone feel nostalgic. Keeping himself busy with playback singing for the past couple of years, it explains why he has been off the grid for quite a while now.

His new single, titled 12 Bajay, will take you back to his Aadat days. Quite different from his outward personality, this song features a pleasant mix of heavy drums and electric guitar. Listening to it for the first time might throw you off for a bit because his fans are used to his romantic ballads and soulful melodies. But rest assured, it will grow on you and you will learn to love it soon enough.

It also comes with an interesting video, which shows bits and pieces of fans chanting Atif! Atif! repeatedly and his jam-packed live performances. It is also accented by psychedelic illustrations and colorful pop art that will cheer you up instantly.

Some behind-the-scenes footage of the song shows the singer talking earnestly about his thought-process behind the single, which was recorded at Sunset Sound Studios, Los Angeles.

 “It was an honor to record at the studio. When we got there we got to know that more than 200 Grammy award winners have recorded thereIt is a dream for a musician to perform here, and record here.”

He also talked about the music and how special it was for him. And that he had always been passionate about creating this kind of music.

“For a long time I was thinking that I should make the kind of music that I want to play. When I recorded it, it reminded me of my Aadat days.”
