Would you ever wear sliders with socks?
‘No’ would be the obvious answer to this question. But socks and sliders are back in fashion.
Fashion has still mined from the Nineties – some good, some bad – and the trend for sliders with socks fall into the latter category.
And if David Beckham can wear a red pair with his brown Birkenstocks for a British Vogue shoot, it’s worth taking note of.

Rihanna began wearing them. They were edgy apparently, and East End boys and girls merrily followed suit.
Besides that this West-Coast-gangster look has been supported by David Beckham, Rita Ora, er, Snoop Dogg and most recently Rihanna.
Sliders are meant for the summer, for airing feet. It’s either too cold for sandals or it’s too hot. Why then do they need to be worn with socks? It’s weird, but fashion is not always there to be understood, just obeyed apparently. Oh, fashion!
